About

RAH-O

RAH-O (R.hymes A.nd H.IP-HOP O.verall) is an emcee who loves music but HIP HOP is his soul. Born in Lake Charles, Louisiana to a Puerto Rican father and Black mother he was already on the move. Being a military brat he did not stay there long. Bouncing around from Atlanta, NYC, DC, North Carolina, NJ and back to NC where he eventually settled in Fayetteville aka "Da 2-6" aka Fayettenam". "Music was always around, everywhere at home, traveling in the car, parties.....I was always infatuated with music but especially HIP HOP". From the early sounds of the pioneers to anyone he currently listens to now he always somehow knew he wanted to be a part of this art form. "My father would throw parties when I was a little youngster so we had to go to our room but I would be behind the door with my ear posted on it listening to the music.....I could never get enough!"

Finding my gift

As he grew older during his teen years is when he discovered that he had a new found gift. After being the beat supplier through the art form of beat boxing at the bus stop morning cipher he decided one day to grab the mic. After that freestyle he knew what he wanted to do and be. From talent shows, club competitions anywhere he could get somewhere and rap he would do it. "Fayetteville is sorta like a midpoint on I-95 for the east coast...so we would get a mesh of all the HIP HOP from the boom bap of the upper East Coast, to the smooth laid back West Coast vibe and the underground scene along with the South's movement". With that he was able to incorporate and have an open view about the art form which gave him a "no boundaries" type of love and approach. "I pictured myself rocking on the same track with Nas, or A Tribe Called Quest but I would see myself on a DJ Quik, Snoop, 8Ball & MJG track just the same going in and not having a problem.....I feel HIP HOP is truly that....I've always loved the versatility of our music".

Sharing my gift

Starting ciphers in the 808, his collective built with fellow emcees Luther "S-ROC" Smith and John "DJ Tadow" Senvisky, the CarobombaZ were formed. Rhyming together and creating music came naturally. Through chance and fate, S-ROC would end up meeting Rich "L.I.F.E." Harris who was a fellow emcee/producer and overall fan/student of the HIP HOP culture. From there, the three ended up becoming the entity known as HARDWAY. Creating music for a project was put on hold due to unforeseen circumstances. He then decided it was time to convey his thoughts alone musically and decided through the support of his team to pursue it. He linked up with Tennail "Deuce" Williams and created an EP called BCTI (BioChemistry: The INvitation). With the process, he knew that he had to build on the momentum. So with the assistance of Rich "L.I.F.E." Harris who understood the vision and the sound created 2Rance which was considered his "coming out" party. From there, he's continued his mission to bring his passion to the artform. Hence his only realm to his mission within via his motto "I never want or wanted to be the best. Just one of your favorites".
